The Cabbage Soup Diet
is one of these fad diets that is a 7 day plan. The goal is to achieve quick weight loss. It had possibly come from a hospital for persons expecting weight loss surgery.
This a very bland tasteless diet and there are many drawbacks to it. The first and foremost drawback being that it does not nourish the body well and is high in salt. There is also known to be a lot of gas with it. I also think it would be hard to be around real foods while on this plan and hard to control yourself from overeating or giving in.
During the seven day course of this diet, you eat in the following ways:
On Day 1 of the plan, you eat your cabbage soup for every meal. You can have any fruit you wish except for a banana.
On Day 2 of the plan, you eat your soup, add some other vegetables and can have a baked potato with some butter for supper.
On Day 3 You eat your soup along with fruits and vegetables excluding bananas.
On Day 4 of the diet, the soup as usual, skim milk, and add 6 bananas to your diet.
On Day 5 of this plan, you can add more food besides the soup like beef and vegetables.
When Day 7 comes along, you'll have the soup and some brown rice. You can also eat vegetables and natural fruit juices.
On the Cabbage Soup Diet, no carbonated beverages or any alcoholic beverages are permitted. You may also not eat breads of any sort.
This is not a nutritionally sound diet either. There is no way you could live on it for any length of time and be really healthy.
